- Peter: Matt, I will be getting a double sided drive next week to
- replace my single sided drive, but need some of your P/D
- files now!
- Matt: Should I copy them double sided or single sided?
- Peter: Well, I need program x now, so single sided for now.
- .......Matt wait!, do those diskettes double sided.......
- ........Say what, you heard me. Who are you, FLIP SIDE silly......
-
- Welcome To FLIP SIDE
-
- FLIP SIDE will allow you to use double sided diskettes on your
- single sided drives. Side one is only accessible on a single
- sided drive, while side two will not. Side one and two of FLIP SIDE
- diskettes are fully double sided drive compatible. Meaning that
- you will be able to access both sides.
-
- FLIP SIDE diskettes must be formatted with 10 sectors. Any number
- of tracks may be specified. A custom formatter is supplied within
- FLIP SIDE offering extended sectors and tracks. Any good formatter
- can be used, so long as it does 10 sectors.
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Things you might need to know about FLIP SIDE
-
- * FLIP SIDE can be installed as an ACCESSORY or execute from the *
- **** GEM Desktop environment as a PRG file. ****
- * It is just a matter of changing the file extention from PRG to ACC *
-
- FLIP SIDE will not recreate boots sectors. So any diskettes
- containing boot sectors or virus will not be erased.
-
- FLIP SIDE only allow and use freshly formatted or reformatted diskettes.
- The reason is files are not erased and my be corrupted during
- the process. So please use formatted diskettes!
-
- FLIP SIDE limits 48 ROOT directory files and directories. Sub-
- directories are not included in limits. The option is given to
- copy your data to the SIDE1 folder or ROOT directory, your choice.
-
- FLIP SIDE will not access side 2 files on a single sided drive. If
- the process is a attempted, TOS read error will occur. To avoid
- confusion copy all files to SIDE2 folder.
-
- Once FLIP SIDE unprotect side 2, you are not allowed to change
- any of the files on side 1. Doing that may force part of that file
- over to side 2
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
-

- 1. Format diskette with 10 sectors and any amount of tracks.
- 2. Set FLIP SIDE to 'PROTECT SIDE 2'. Set drive to A or B
